NEGOTIATED PURCHASES SUMMARIES BELOW
DTN COMMENT: Formula totals for last week were higher in all major
feeding areas: KS 77,083(+141), NE 52,816(+3,029), TX 87,718(+1,702).
Total trade volume was mixed, lower in Kansas and Nebraska, but higher in
Texas: KS 88,901(-2,097), NE 71,667(-6,720), TX 93,024(+1,066). New
showlists appear to be higher in all major feeding states. Bids and asking
prices are yet to be established. Significant trade volume will likely be
delayed until the second half of the week.
Beef cutouts are higher at midday (Choice 298.28 +3.71, Select 286.47
+2.30), with light box movement (20.36 lds of choice cuts, 7.83 lds of
select cuts, 0.00 lds of trim, and 22.30 lds of ground). Cattle futures at
the top of the noon hour are mixed on both live and feeder contracts.
